Sauna Safety Instructions – World Sauna Forum 2025

To ensure a safe and enjoyable sauna experience for everyone, please read through our tips for the World Sauna Forum 2025. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask us! You can contact us at tomoko@saunafromfinland.fi.

What to bring with you

– Please bring a swimsuit, towel, and sauna sandals.

– Towels are available to rent on-site for 5 €.

– Disposable seat covers are available, but you’re also welcome to bring your own washable seat cover for extra comfort.

– There’s fresh drinking water available throughout the event, and bath products are provided in the shower areas.

Changing clothes

– Changing areas are available in separate men’s and women’s dressing rooms (20 spots per dressing room) or in the restrooms at Sataman Viilu.

– To prevent dressing rooms from getting crowded, we recommend using the restroom facilities for changing.

– At the restroom entrance, you’ll receive a bag for your clothes. The bag will be stored in a coat check. You can collect your items later. Event staff will assist with this process.

Before entering the sauna

– Please remove your shoes before entering the dressing rooms to keep the floors clean.

– After changing, put on your sauna sandals.

– Shower thoroughly and wear your swimsuit before entering the shared sauna area. If you have long hair, tying it up is recommended, especially when using the pools and tubs, to avoid loose hair in the water.

While in the sauna

– Be mindful of others in the sauna.

– If it’s already quite hot, please ask others before adding more water to the sauna heaters (löyly).

– Use a seat cover when sitting on the benches.

Cooling off

– Take a quick shower after sauna to rinse off sweat before cooling down outside or in the pools.

– Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water during your breaks.

– Alcohol beverages are available at the venue, but they may not be brought into the pop-up sauna area.

Taking a dip?

– If you’re using the cold plunge tub, hot tub, or swimming in Lake Jyväsjärvi, please shower before returning to the sauna.

Other practical info

– You’re welcome to enjoy the sauna area as long as you’d like during the event’s open hours. Access to all saunas is included in your ticket.

– You can always leave and return later to continue your sauna experience.

– Please return any rented towels to the designated return boxes.

– Before you leave, double-check that you’ve collected all your belongings.

– Consider Finnish weather and dress accordingly. It can also get quite windy due the location.

– Make sure to bring bug spray. There might be mosquitoes, especially during the evenings.
