The Saunayoga poses, done at a leisurely pace in the silence of the sauna, take care of the body and relax the mind. The poses are based on various yoga styles and practised seated in a temperature of approximately 50°C (120°F). Some of the poses help to relieve tensions in the neck and shoulder region and remove excessive strain on the spine and surrounding musculature, while others work to strengthen the trunk and leg muscles. The gentle heat of the sauna effectively melts away the strains and the beneficial effects can be felt immediately after a single session.
Saunayoga can be an individual practice in a domestic sauna setting or you can attend one of the instructed group sessions available. The instructed Saunayoga session lasts for 30-45 minutes. It is suitable for everyone and requires no previous yoga training experience.
Crafting a vihta is a process of connecting with nature—at its best, it becomes a form of active meditation.
Come and make your own small vihta in the style of traditional sauna healers.
There are many types of vihta, and many names for them. In this workshop, you’ll create a special kind of vihta—a small, beautiful bundle made to soothe the heart. Its role is to bring a piece of the forest into the sauna, gently gather the worries resting in your heart, and carry them away into the air with the löyly.
Vihtas can be made from almost any kind of plant, as long as they are not toxic. The workshop offers a selection of different branches and twigs. Please note that the plants may cause allergic reactions.
Workshop duration 1 hour, max. 20 person per group.
Payments on the spot by credit card (Visa, V PAY, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Discover, Diners Club or Union Pay).

Social bathing has long been part of human culture, and its modern revival reflects our deep need for connection. Sauna, in particular, creates a shared space for relaxation, conversation, and community. The heat not only eases the body but also boosts endorphins and oxytocin—hormones linked to well-being and bonding. In a digital world, social bathing offers a timeless way to reconnect and restore.

Tupaswilla Excursion on Friday June 6th 2025
Welcome to Tupaswilla courtyard in Laukaa, 30 minutes drive from Jyväskylä city. We offer a memorable day for you within our area of expertise: Finnish cultural traditions and the Finnish smoke sauna experience with natural peat treatment. Beautiful surroundings and charming log houses create a relaxing atmosphere –welcome!
Programme included in the ticket:
The World’s Largest Smokesauna
Our smoke sauna takes 150 persons in. This is a unique building made of old logs and recycled materials. There are separate changing rooms and showers for men and women; the sauna room is common with swimsuits on. There’s a cosy fireplace on the porch. Swimming in the forest pond with cold springs is refreshing throughout the year.
The Tupaswilla smoke sauna was chosen as the best smoke sauna in Finland 2016 by the International Smoke Sauna Club. The quality of the humid heat is special due to the huge oven. It weighs about 5000 kilos and takes 5-6 hours to heat using birch and alder wood.
Natural Peat Treatment in the Warm Sauna
Natural peat treatment is a health promoting experience. The ancient peat, dug from a deep swamp, is 100% natural ingredient. It contains various nutrients and minerals. Peat used as a mask on your skin helps to clean and soften the skin as well as to clean metabolic waste from the body. Remember hydration: drink 1-2 litres of water before peat sauna treatment.
Craft Demonstrations
Have a guided walking tour through the Tupaswilla courtyard and see the artisans at their work.
There are souvenir products for sale, including smith work, dyed yarn, and cosmetic peat care products by Lehtopeat-shop.

Price 35 € / person

In this workshop, Dr. Liikkanen will share his four-faceted model of sauna experience design, offering valuable insights into how heating, air quality, and interior design come together to create an authentic and enjoyable sauna experience.
